Even after this, there are still haters who call Prince a "competent guitarist" (as if he played for some decent garage band), and some even refer to him as a "hack." It's one thing to say he's not your cup of tea, but...

I used to call the naysayers out, but then I realized it's best to just let them go ahead and sound stupid. They're saying a lot more about themselves they could ever say about The Purple One.

"Natural One" by Folk Implosion. That bass line is just kills it!

This song is about a couple who strap their two children into the back seat of the car and go murder them, the song begins with the narration of one of the kids as he realizes what's about to happen. The pace and tone of the song is bizarrely matched, yet somehow works--as it reflects the mind of an innocent child trying to process what's about to happen.

The second part of the song is some sort of prayer/meditation about God and finding comfort in the divine afterlife....

Soup is one of my all time favorite albums. Blind Melon was so underrated...

Mike Watt's "Shore Duty" makes me cry every time I hear it. The album "Contemplating The Engine Room" came out at the same time my dad passed away.

Radiohead's Pyramid Song gives me chills from both its beautiful and melancholy. There are several such Radiohead tunes for me - Bloom, Everything in its Right Place, The Gloaming, Dollars and Cents, the list goes on. Something about Thom's voice along with the mournful textures from Johnny et al that does it for me. Also, Oceansize's Savant almost brings a tear to my eye, it's so achingly beautiful. How does one even write something like that?
