Best Practice is my chosen tool for slowing songs down and pitch shifting. I use GuitarPro a lot to loop sections I need to learn though. The ability to increase the tempo gradually on each loop becomes invaluable for learning covers quickly. Downside of GPro is the sound quality isn't that good and you are at the mercy of the available transcriptions on the net. Most are accurate enough though.The amazing slow downer isn't actually free.
