So I'm in another dilemma. Seems I only post threads on TB for poll advice on basses I want. This time the choices are like polar opposites but stick with me.

Really itching for a ric but I don't know if I should hold out for a Stingray 5 30th Anniversary; or just go for a normal Stingray 5 after I get the ric.

The music I play now and then doesn't really demand me to downtune (maybe transpose a bit but nothing below yet). I just don't know if the 30th anniversary is going to be good enough to get first and then hold out for a ric or just get the ric and a normal stingray 5 after (if not the anniversary model)

Oh, and Jetglo or Maple?

I own both.

My advice is to forget the anniversary model, shop wisely, and get both as soon as you possibly can. Many pay $100s more for Rics than necessary. Same for MMs. I don't have time to write out instructions, but you can get 28% off both if you buy from Musiciansfriend, and have a little patience to wait for their 20% coupon. Presidents' Day you can get 15% plus an added 8% with their backstage program.
