About MICS on Ibanez !!! ???

I have a Ibanez SR405QM 5 strings active bass with 2 big mics. I went to the store and tried this Ibanez Gsr2000 which is a lot cheaper but has 2 small mics by the neck and 1 more by the bridge and sounds a lot better... Why ? Specially when you slap It. :scowl: . I've being thinking in selling my SR405QM to get one of this cheaper $200 basses... Will this be smart ?. It May be the strings ????

they are 'pickups' not mics...and the 2 small ones is actually just one. It's a split coil like the Fender P bass but in the reverse orientation.

You might be liking the tone of a passive bass over the tone of an active bass.

The GSR200 Is active as well. And thanks for the pickups correction..

Then you're possibly preferring the bridge single coil in the mix over humbucking pickups?

Position of the pickups is different too, that affects the sound alot.

I'd say it's probably a setup, strings, or EQ issue. The pickups on the 400 are actually P pickups in soapbar shells.

To clarify, "P pickups" = "2 small mics."
