About the Boss SY-1

Hey guys! I'm mainly a double bassist and I have little clue about pedals. I'm looking for the classic "chameleon" moog sound with my new SY-1, but I cannot find the right settings.

Also, is it advisable to purchase any other(s) pedal to make this one sound good in a live performance? Like a compression or something?

I found Lead 1, setting 11 has a good Taurus bass pedal sound with an oscillator using an electric bass. You’ll want to hit the string and hold the note by stepping on the pedal.
