About to have to sell out......

im not really in a position to not go for this but it just hate having to change for a job.
I had long hair all the way through college and university. Trust me: getting a haircut will hurt for two weeks, then you'll never go back.

Nobody who works for someone else should think it's their place to make a fashion statement with clothes or hair, unless that's specifically why they were hired. Remember- you represent the company you work for and if you leave a customer/potential customer with a bad impression, it's gonna be curtains for you.
"Sell out"? When did you develop a following for the principle of keeping your hair forever? Does your hair define who or what you are? Who do you think you are, Jimi Hendrix?

This will,not be the last job you'll have to clean up for. Get over it. Been there. done that. Get th job first, then scope out who sports the longer hairand beards.
Who knows, Your wife may prefer you w/o all the hair. Just remember to be clean shaven before you get busy.
It also costs money to keep your hair properly trimmed and for razors. I get my closest shave in the shower with the Gilette vibrating 5 blade razor and Oil of Olay or Camay soap.

Just remember that you don't have to be clean cut and pursue that job. You don't HAVE to. I know a VP at a 500 million USD footwear company with a mohawk. He found the right place to work for him.

Don't feel bad man. I know my beardless days are coming soon. I've had one for a few years but in about a year I will be going to the fire academy to be a firefighter and the only facial hair fire departments allow are sideburns and a foo Manchu…which I will probably grow so I can look like an anorexic version of Hulk Hogan.
I had a beard for two years. I shaved it off in a drunken rampage and have never gone back. Either clean shaven or chops for me.

It's all just a game, after first impressions people will get to know who you really are.
I had a funny exepreince at Macy's recently. I am not exactly Mr. GQ, I have a grey beard and I usually wear old jeans, boots and maybe a faded cowboy shirt or t-shirt. There was an older very well dressed man who looked like he worked at the store. He looked like he had never had dirt under his fingernails in his entire life.When I asked him if he worked there he said no and seemed very offended that I would even ask him. I went about my business and looked for shoes. When I was leaving I saw Mr. Snooty Patootie waiting on a customer. We locked eyes for a second and I could see the fear in his eyes. I just smiled and headed down the escalator. I figure he didn't like my looks or was on his break. I wasn't offended in fact the whole thing still amuses me.
