Absolute Scariest Movies

Hey all,
Halloween is coming up (awesome holiday) but in the past years it's come and gone very fast and I haven't had the time to enjoy it as I used to. I'm thinking of watching a few of the scariest movies I can find to get myself into the Halloween mood. Any suggestions? And I'm thinking really scary movies.
A quick note: I thought The Ring was very scary and kept me from sleeping soundly for a good week. So, to put that differently for those who haven't seen The Ring, I get scared by disturbing images that stick in one's mind.

I'm a strange person when it comes to scary movies, I can be peeking out from behind something or cue the sadistic laughing and giggling at it depending on what kind of scary (caused by ghosts/aliens etc. vs. caused by a human).

Out of those listed already I quite liked Audition and Evil Dead (all of them) but didn't find them that scary, but that's just me.

Have to agree with Ju-on...the noise Kayako makes freaks me out (half blamed on a drunken night with a friend where the power went off and she started making Kayako noises and creeping up on me >.>''').

EDIT: Though for comedy horror I'm finding My Name Is Bruce pretty funny in...a bad kinda way XD *just started watching it*

I love My Name Is Bruce. Its hilarious, because he makes fun of himself. Watch Bubba Ho-Tep as well, it's another amazing Bruce movie.
Bruce's acting career is pretty terrifying now that I think about it.

From the more recent selections, I'd have to go with "The Haunting in Connecticut"

If we're talking old school it would be the original "Texas Chainsaw Massacre".

Both choosen for the "based on a true story" factor.

Both those were just creeped out. I go deep when I watch movies and try to let them take me to thier "place". Those two just gave mw the creeps for days.

Another one for me was Poltergiest. I went to a theatre during the day before a gig and saw that. I had no idea what the movie was about or what a Poltergeist was.

I like seeing movies that I don't know what they are about before I see them.
