Accidental Purchase!

So last night in the wee hours of the morning, I was looking through ebay and apparently I bid on this bass. I had no idea that i did such a thing until I just checked my email before going to bed, and ebay emails me that I've won this auction:

I think I bid maybe $5 on it as a joke, with no intent on purchasing it. Turns out I won it, and am committed to buying it. However, shipping is $55 and with a total of $60, I figure I could keep it and mess around with it.

Does anybody have any experience with these basses? Do standard fender parts fit? I'm not trying to pass it off as a Fender, but for the sake of looks, does anybody know where I can find Fender decals?

Oh man. Looks like I'm going to have to make the best of it! I'll be sure to report back with my findings.

As much as I hate to admit this, I did the same thing. Be prepared, you will get precisely what you paid for. The bass is pretty much a toy - and a toy with the shoddiest craftsmanship I've ever seen.

I took mine out, plugged it in, threw it back in the box and it's been sitting in a corner till I can figure out what to do with it.

I figured, how could I go wrong for $50 (which is what I paid for mine with shipping). Reminds me of the time when I was 16 and played 3 card monte. :)

If it's really a POS, why spend the $ on shipping. Pay the $2.25 and tell him you'll have someone pick it up locally. I'm sure there must be someone here on TB that's in the area and can save you $55. Unless, of course, you really want it. I see it comes with a pick too.

Part of the deal with those things is the shipping. That's where they make their money. Pretty sure they all say "No pick-ups." To be honest, I'd try and cut a deal and tell them you'll send them $10 to just squash the purchase and leave you good feedback. Not trying to bum you out - just sharing my experience.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Could be a boat anchor, but maybe it floats...
