Well done cerfully expanding the existing relic cos often people go overboard and the relic makes no sense.

I took the after pictures with a better camera, but the color did lighten up and you can see the grain better after I hit it with the Scotch-Bright pad.

I always take the sheen off my basses. Shiny = bad to me.

Fender did a good job with the tuners. Bridge, knobs, and neck plate, not so much.
Don't have any Muriatic acid on hand. Probably a good thing!

I've been drinking Hefeweizen Schofferhofer lately. Grapefruit flavor is very refreshing in this heat, and it only has 2.5% alcohol. Some may not consider it beer though!

Ya, that's looking fantastic now. I discovered the hard way cleaning up some big dings on my 09 Precision that you can both over-manicure and under manicure rough edges and dings. But I think you nailed it with that pic.
