Just saw this one in my Facebook feed.

Wow.

It's just otherworldly. The fingerboard and pickup covers are such an amazing contrast with the holly top.

And the knobs just flow so perfectly.

I thought Mark Latimore made a great choice going with chrome hardware on his holly topped ACG, but on this one the black is perfect.

I'm completely happy with how my bass is shaping up but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't envisioning this one as a righty with a Recurve lower horn.

P90 pickups into an East Tone Lifter circuit volume 4 way selector.
Satin finish.

Possibly blasphemy on a bass website, but if I had the money for a new ACG it'd be a Reiver. Loved the body shape since the first photo.

I'm guessing the 4-way is the same switching options as on the bass (neck, bridge, both parallel, both series)?

Possible idiot question alert: what does a tap do on a single-coil pickup like a P90? I've had humbuckers with coil taps which, to the best of my understanding, disengage one of the coils to make the pickup a single coil. So how does that work on a single coil?

"Coil Tap" and "Coil Split" are used interchangeably but they have different meanings. Coil splits convert humbuckers to single coils by disabling the connection to one of the coils.

Coil taps basically remove windings by having two hot leads, one at the end of the coil and one somewhere in the middle. This lowers the pickup output.

The way I understand it the idea is to have an overwound single coil for more output and thicker lows/low mids but then tap it to get a more conventional sound as well.

I was wondering how the maple bass was getting on. And here it is. Alan, I don't know how you do it: I'm unsure whether I like singlecuts, I'm not a massive fan of flamed maple at the moment, I generally don't like gold hardware and I've never felt like I need more than 5 strings.

But I want this!
