Acme B4 woes.....keep it, replace it, or add to it

There is a clown on eBay who wants $140 + $70 S&H for a S1 B2 with blown drivers. After you spend the the $160 to get new drivers from Acme, you would have around $350 sunk in to the cab......might as well wait for used S2 B2 to pop up.

For that price I'd just buy a new B2.

We'll its been awhile, so I figured it's time for an update..........instead of adding to the Acme, I am getting out of this band. They just play too ******* loud I came to the realization that a CA9 and an Acme B4 should be loud enough for ANY gig and/or practice!!!!! I can not afford to replace drivers just because these guys can not turn down. Also, I value my hearing way too much!! I will replace the drivers and press on.

Those who've had problems with Acmes in the past might want to keep an eye out for the forthcoming 12" models. Tone should be very similar but the woofers will have higher Xlim and thus be much harder to damage. Lighter too.

I really wish I'd heard about your speaker trouble sooner. There was an Acme b-4 in the Nashville craigslist for a long time for $350, I went back to see if I could find it in the old listings, but it's gone. If it pops up again, I'll PM you.
