Acoustic 150B head

There's this guy selling this amp on craigslist [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

Is this amp a reliable amp, hows the tone?, and I saw on some reviews that they usually only go for $150?

Not too great of a Deal IMHO.

$350 could get a mint 150B with speaker.... but not all that bad of a price, if it all WORKS.

I disagree. This is a good price for that set up. And operating properly it'll produce a very fine bass tone. Wooly and round but with a low mid punch that'll cut very well with in a band context. It's not gonna be a super duper metal rig or anything but you'll be surprised at how loud it gets!

So acoustic 150b are suppose to be pretty good? I've never heard or played through a 150b before.

As with anything old the electrolytic caps will need to be replaced for
best performance if it hasn't been done recently.

Its a terrific sounding head. Very simple but extremely toneful.

I sold mine 3 years ago for $150, and it was mint. Bought it 2 years before that for $100!

It has enough power for most things, unless you're with a loud band. My main band then, was way too loud, with no PA support. Otherwise I would have kept it.

They are supposed to be pretty reliable as well. I didn't have it long enough to know. But a well built solid state amp will be as reliable, if not more-so than its tube counter-part...

For not a whole lot more, try a 370 head. That should cover just about any situation. I would have kept that one as well if I didn't find the Traynor Mono Block II - probably THE best sound of the 70s solid state heads!

He's just messing with you. It's a good deal for that rig. Looks good, it'll sound great but may need some work ( old stuff usually does) so get it and make your self happy.

Amp AND 2x15 cab for $250? That's a good price... I misunderstood...
