Acoustic Bass Guitar Suggestions

I play in a small church group. I use an amplifier with my Washburn Acoustic Bass. I find the pickup output to be uneven (some notes play loud, some soft some not at all) and would like to remedy this. Need suggestions please. I’ve had 2 acoustic basses both piezo and both disappointing. Should I forget plugging in and just mic my bass or get a new pick up system? Thank you

What type of pickup are you talking about? A piezo? If so, it sounds like the pickup isn't seated correctly. It could be a simple fix. If the pickup needs to be adjusted or replaced a compressor might help a little...but not enough to overcome the issue. Still, I think that every bass player should have a compressor. So, I still think it's a good recommendation.

I would suggest taking the bass to someone who knows about piezo pickups and how to work on them. It could be a five minute fix.
