So im getting some normal/long scale piccolo bass strings from daddario for an acoustic bass and had heard that you need to file the nut and change the action etc.. is this necessary?
The strings will be smaller than your current, so no need to file them out. The action may need to be adjusted depending on the tension difference between the old strings and the piccolo set. Won't know until you string it.
