Active/Passive Mod for Bartolini MK1 Pickups?

Hey all...

Just out of curiosity, is it possible to modify a bass(Ibanez SR500) so that you can go from active electronics to passive electronics? I'm thinking about pulling out the stock volume control and replacing it with a push pull pot. Can this be done? Sorry if this is a stupid question, but all will be appreciated. Thank You

I don't see why it couldn't be done. The MK1 pickups themselves are passive, and sound fine without a preamp.
