Active/Passive Schecter

Hey guys, I'm a long time lurker but I need some help with my bass.

I have a Schector Diamond Series 004 with active/passive pull push setup. Well a friend knocked over my bass off the stand and the knob broke out and can no longer be used in passive. I opened it up and saw that it doesn't look like it can be an easy fix. So I don't mind switching it out.

I would like to just make it full passive but if that requires switching everything out then I probably won't go that route. I don't really know exactly what I would need (as far as what pull/push pot). So that's why I've come to you guys. What would it take for an all passive setup? Or what pull/push pot should I use?
 
Need more info. You say the knob broke out. Did the wood break around that pot or did the shaft of the pot snap, or did the knob just come off the shaft? Which p/p pot you will need depends on the thickness of the wood it's mounted through. Best bet there is to remove the broken pot and look at it. If you want to go all passive, look up a jazz bass wiring diagram (use google image search imo, fastest way) and follow that. Your bass has 4 knobs right? Jazz bass passive setup uses only 3 so you will want to leave a dummy knob in the last spot.
Last, If you aren't familiar with soldering, take the thing to a local tech and get it fixed. It will cost but it will save you a considerable amount of grief.
 
No, the wood did not break. Where the shaft connects to at the bottom of the pot (for the push/pull) broke out. So the knob and shaft pull completely out. I tried to see if I could glue/weld/solder/ something but it doesn't look possible. Yea it has 4 knobs on it, I don't mind leaving one as a dummy. I'm familiar with soldering, not the best but I do know how so I think I might give that a shot.

When it comes to pulling out the pot, what exactly would I look for to determine the right one I need? I know it has an ash body so I don't know exactly what I would be looking for there.
 
The value and taper of the pot might be stamped on the wafer (the brown part) where it's edge sticks out, or it might be stamped on the side of the push/pull casing. Once you de-solder the pot and remove it you should be able to compare it visually with the pic on the website to determine whether you need short or long shaft.
