Adam Nitti Clinic In Denver!

I checked him out Stew. What more can I say. All of my gear is for sale. I don't even want to look at a bass any more after seeing Adam work it. 
It was very nice. The store he was at is not a big chain a la Guitar Center so space was limited. Bodies filled that limited amount of space and I noticed that several people that wanted to come in turned around at the door after seeing how crowded it was.
Adam used a portable DAT to play tracks from his Evidence CD as his ensemble during the clinic. It was a pretty intimate setting that allowed everyone to get involved and there were free take home goodies, provided by D'Addario, for all. Gary Rosen, the host, did a wonderful job. Hopefully his business will do well enough to be able to host more clinics of this type in the future.
Unfortunately, I didn't get to see Greg play but we talked a bit. He was nice enough to offer me a place to stay if I decided to come to the annual Bozeman Bass Bash in September. I just may take him up on that offer. He did have a sweet rig. I'm not sure about the models but he had two Aphex units for preamplification, a couple of loop stations, a Stewart World 2.1 and an Accugroove El Whappo. I'm sure that I'm missing something but that's what I remember.

I think that what impressed me most about Adam was how accomodating he was. He really shared quite a bit of himself and he didn't have to do that. I tell you what, when I initially heard some of his music I simply liked his style. After seeing him playing live on Wednesday and during the clinic on Thursday, he has moved way up on my list of favorites. Everything that he did just seemed so effortless.
Greg was really nice also. After talking with him on both Wednesday and Thursday, he made me the offer of sharing his roof. I just noticed that you're from NOLA. I was raised near Hattiesburg, MS. My southern upbringing tells me to show a person willing to extend themselves to me in that manner a high degree of respect.
Now if you ever decide to come this way Stew, don't forget the gumbo, shrimp po-boys, jambalaya.......

thanks for the review, man. I spoke with Greg last night and he talked about a point during Adam's clininc where he (Greg) was so moved that he was close to tears. that's the kind of cat worth getting to know!

I've been waiting since the last one that I missed.

We're trying to work it out now. My man Ad Nausem has a list with all of the people that we have contacted on the prior two. He wants to bail of the responsibilities for this one. And he was doing such a nice job!
It's looks like I'll be the one trying to pull it all together for the next one.

It's a pretty cool little hangout for a few hours. We normally have food & refreshments but you actually get to see some of that gear that is not readily available in the Denver area. I got a chance to see/hear a Walter Woods head for the first time at the last one. Some pretty good players, myself not included, participated in the last two and the relaxed atmosphere encourages the exchange of ideas. Be patient with me while I try to get it together.
I just look forward to meeting other players, and the exchange of tips/ideas/gig-spam.
Seeing others' equipment just gives me a bad case of gas. I am not much of a gear-hog because of a wife, kids, and limited budget. But I do like to know what is out there.

Gary, thanks to you I feel that we will be seeing a lot more gear variety here in Denver. You know that you're on the list. If you come you may have to be careful. I told you that story on how Scott Surine almost got jacked when he tried to leave with the basses that he had brought to the one we had in late July! Man I'd like to hear that Avatar cab that you have! Speaking of GAS, I'm one of those guys whose entry into to bass playing was buying a lot of gear. I had to get my arsenal together before I thought about lessons, ya know!
You're right. It is cool to know what's out there. The more I've been able to try different stuff, the more comfortable I've become with what I have. I'm sure that there will be what many would feel to be better gear in my future. Hopefully my exposure to what's out there will help me to make a decision that I won't regret when it's time to look at those more expensive options.

Man, why did no one tell me about these get-togathers? And why didn't I hear about Adam coming? ah well, guess I'm out of the loop. Put me on the list ebozzz- or should I get ahold of Ad Nausem? Do you guys normally do this at one of the TB guy's houses?
I've got you covered. For last two we were fortunate enough to have some guys that were willing to take us in at their homes. For this one we would like to have a little more room and it remains to be seen how the chips are going to fall. I just got a message from Adam a little earlier today. He says not to worry. He'll be back.

I will bring the Avatar. I don't have much playing time on it yet, so I couldn't give you much of a review. Only a few hours & one gig. But so far it has done what I have asked of it. Portability!! I can have my bass on my back, amp in one hand, cab in another, pedal under my arm, and my cord-bag in there somewhere. I probably look like a mule.
I seems to have a nice tone, & handled whatever I threw at it down to a low B.
I plan on going to see Guitar X at lunch today. But, ALAS, I have no money. I will probably catch a good case of GAS!!
