Addictions you quit.

Rakie

Let me take you down, 'cause I'm going to...
Really whats your ex vice? I mean anything... Smoking, drugs, alcohol, even things nothing like that, video game's, going out, shopping. There's a point when you do something so much it hurts you and those around you, so what was yours?

For me, it was playing World of Warcraft... yeah, sounds lame right? well, i was in one of the hardcore raiding guilds, we were constantly competing to be one of the best, most recognized guilds on the server, that meant raiding 6 hours a night, Farming 2-3 hours a day and thats an average day, then we'd be on all day before / after that... Most of us logged off to sleep. I quit my job to play wow, i quit driving to save gas money to pay wow, disconnected my cell phone, started selling things to make paymnents on stuff. but i didnt even have it that bad.

A buddy of mine divorced his wife to play more, sold his car / house / possessions to keep funding his desire to play about 18+ hours a day.

Three weeks ago on the Tyra banks show, a man refused to drive his wife to the emergency room, her water broke, but... he was raiding. And we know a game > RL (Real life) right? yeah.

About a year ago now, a Chinese kid played for four days straight, he never left the room, didnt go out to eat, or drink. Was using the corner as a "Rest room" then he left a note that said "I want to live with the blizzard gods" (Blizzard is the creator of the game, WoW) so then he jumped out a window.

And now i've quit it for the last few months. You'd be surprised how hard it is to quit that game...

So tell me your story.

I bailed on the alcohol years ago. Can't seem to shake this TB thing though.:help:

yeah, i hear that...

I think i have an addictive personality, back in my raver days (DONT LAUGH !!! LOL) but back then, id hit up the E and get a nice roll going... then after that there was a point where id need 3-4 shots just to get out of bed and face the day...

but right now im just addicted to bass... so things are looking better :ninja:

Leeeeeerrrrrrroooooooyyyyyyyyyyy Jenkins!!!

LMAO!!!

I started playing Everquest in 1998. Spent countless hours raiding and questing, sitting in North Freeport trading, hanging out and chatting, or just travelling the continents "sight seeing". Everything was scheduled around my EQ time.

I still have my account and ocassionally log in but it doesn't have the appeal it once had. I'm more likely to pull a Leroy Jenkins than anything at this point. :p :D

ima addicted to talking to my girlfriend all night (she lives 12 hours time difference away) so my sleep patterns are wack and then when shes not there i cant sleep at night

oh wait ex vice, nah i dont really have anything

O man, i know how that is.

Herion, quit 27 years ago, smoking, quit 18 months ago,the smoking was REALLY hard to quit. I still miss smoking but I feel so much better now and have more money for beer!!

its all about newcastle... i mean come on.. it tastes like children's smiles and rainbows.

I havent really quit any addictions I have but then again the only real addiction in my life is tobacco.

I've quit all the typical waste of life wannabe rock star crap. I won't post details, but I shouldn't still be alive at this point :hmm: ....as well as quiting cigarettes.

Cigarettes was the hardest to quit out of all of them.

I'm 13 years without illegal substances and 5 without cigarettes. :bassist:

(coffee is my only vice now... but I quit caffeinated sodas and I do purposely skip coffee completely for a few days every couple months just to keep it in check.)
