Adding an on/off EQ switch

I have an Ibanez SR600 with active EQ's. It annoys the hell out of me every time i run out of battery during gigs. My preamp is a 2-band EQ and the pots are vol/bal/bass/treble.

Is there anyway I can incorporate an EQ on off switch to bypass the preamp?

I dont know.

If your bass uses passive pickups, then yes, maybe.

But if it has active pickups, you wont be able to, well, you could, but it would still die if the batteries run out.

Just one thing. Do you leave a jack plug connected to your bass all the time? If so, that drains the batteries, i think something is a bit wrong (or an exaggeration) about it dying at gigs, all my active basses last about 9+ months before the batteries die (tho i usually replace every 6 months to be on the safe side).

I tried to help someone with a schecter with this as well. I've done it many times.

All you have to do is get the signal from the blend pot to the jack, going around the preamp. But yours has the volume as part of the active ciruit so you won't have volume control in passive mode without some serious work.
