Adding effect (pedals) after recording.

Hi TalkBass,

Is there a way to add effects from your pedals after the recording is done?

For example, I have recorded a clean bass track and I'd like to add some drive from my pedal to the track recorded.

Patch a dedicated output to a reamp box, then to the intended effect pedal(s) and then finally back into an input.

Yes! Keep the original track raw, play it out on one channel and record the return on another. Always keep the original, original so you can go back to it if you need. Instead of outboard pedals you could take a look at VST effects. Many are quite amazing and things can be done in the digital domain that can't be done in analog. For example, EQ with no phase shift.

I'm using a Roland UA22 as my interface...
My current chain is Bass -> UA22 -> Garage Band.

It looks like I should get a reamp box if I want to record both track with effect and raw track...
But is it possible to input my recorded raw track to an effect pedal and record a track with effect?

Thanks. So for my case, I'll patch my computer/interface output to the reamp box, then intended effect pedal(s), and the finally back to one of my interface's inputs...?
