Adding external speaker

I want to add external speaker to a fender bassman 250/115 . Been playing bass a long time and don't know about ohm ratings. So if the internal speaker is rated at 4 ohm , you can't use an 8 ohm ext. speaker cab. ?

Hi, Timzag! Welcome to TalkBass. The short answer is, no, you can't add an external speaker cab. The longer answer is you can easily temporarily replace the internal speaker with an external 8 ohm cab, or two.
