Not even sure how to search for this but I would like to solicit some opinions.
I have a Dunable R2 with a split coil pup:
I also have a set of Dunable Baphomet humbuckers not being used currently. I'm thinking of going full ape and routing for a neck a la mudbucker and the other one at the bridge, with a V/V/V/T layout. Main reason being I have an AmProII P5 to cover the split, I have a Dunable Thunderclapper with Katanas (single coil) in it and I have a custom Thunderclapper with dual Ps on order. I feel like the three pup situation will add plenty that I don't already have covered, but what are the possible downsides, apart from the obvious hacking up a US Dunable for sonic experiments? Anyone else messed around with a similar configuration? I've seen some McGraths (I think) and obviously the Stu Hamm/Sheehan basses. Am I just asking for issues with this setup?
I'm still in the spitballing phase so feel free to drop any and all comments.
Full disclosure, the bass sounds fantastic as is. I won't be disappointed keeping it as is.
