Actually not really, and I would agree that not many if any people could hear the fundamental, but they could feel it. That might be pretty cool.

For some unknown reason that little four letter word becomes a BIG DEAL when talking about these "instruments".

That's why I suggested just referring to it as a "full range instrument".

The typical range of human hearing is about 20Hz to 20,000Hz, so there probably are those who can hear the 17Hz C# fundamental. Jaquo may be one of them. "Bionic" hearing was far from a locical way to express this phenomenon, because, while not "normal", being able to hear that low is certainly not unheard of.

Just thought everybody would be interested.
