Adopted a cat today!!!! Need a name

Pierre.

Also, awesome that you got an adult cat. My wife and I have 4, one of them is FIV positive. People think we're nuts for being 'cat people' that spend tons of money of vet bills. Look at it this way... you can leave the cat alone for hours, unattended, and not get in trouble. Children on the other hand... no way.

Back when I was a kid in the '70's we got a cat like the one in the OP in the same bluish/grey color. My grandfather was always going on about "that blue cat".

My father started calling the cat Blue Boy.

My mother, for some reason, always had a print of this painting on the wall in the music room: Thomas Gainsborough's "The Blue Boy"

So,with the help of my sister, that cat's name eventually morphed into : Mr. Gainsborough.

I'd be honored ( and amazed ) if you'd call him Mr. Gainsborough.

my grandmother used to have a cat named "cooking fat" (mostly went by cooking). he was so named because when she asked her husband what to name it he said "****ing cat" so she switched it up and it stuck.

but i've always been partial to "domesticated cat number 1". that is assuming you'll get another to name "domesticated cat number 2".

For your consideration:

Bobo T. Baggins .... really any name ending in T. Baggins
Remington Steele
Lick Longley
Dog ( not necessarily the bounty hunter)
Corporal Angus Covington the first ( you never know)
Boo Radley ( great cat name )
Ballrot
Sassy "Jugs" McAllister

Out of curiosity I Googled "Best cat names ever". My fave of all that I saw was Bratwurst Elvis. Bratty for short.
