This month is the anniversary of my diagnosis of stage 4 colorectal cancer and subsequent surgery. Thanks to the Grace of God and the care of the Nevada Cancer Institute and thanks to all the love received from so many, i am am still here, and i am still kickin' ..
I just want to say how deeply gratelful I am to all of you. I love you all, you are incredible. I wish you all a lifetime of blessings. And my respect and love and tears to those who succumbed. Chris A, Hambone's wife and more whom I cannot think of right now. God is with you... my love is with you.
Adrian

Good on ya! It's wonderful that things worked out for you, and I echo your thoughts for all whose loved ones had a different result.

thanks again, fellas..
i am by no means cancer free.. in fact I go tomorrow for a consultation with a surgeon to se if I am remotely eligible for surgical removal of the tumors in my liver. It is the best case scenario for survival, but would lay me out for about 8 weeks... still, it's all in God's hands and I do feel pretty strong, so I am still blessed.

We'll all be here for you! I'll say a prayer for you, we still gotta go out for Thai whenever Debi and I get out there! :D

met with the surgeon today. I knew the chances of getting great news were slim, i have seen my scans. Bottom line is my liver is inoperable, so we continue with chemo. Hard to take because of my beautiful Kimberly, who is my happiness and joy and I hate to think about leaving here, but he sat there and discussed how death can come since what I have is pretty much incurable and a matter of time. weird way to live life. Impossible to plan for a future. I remain blessed by God in many ways... kind of in a funk right now, but I will climb out of it, I'm sure. I keep praying...
funny, I'm not so afraid to die, I hurt for my loved ones who have to witness what is going on.. God is my refuge.

:(
My friend.
My brother.
My inspiration.

Nothing but prayers.
And your not going anywhere. You have big things left to do my friend.
So enough with that talk. We gotta get to work.
You hear me?!?!?

Good, now that we agree on this.

After my initial funk today, I have decided NOT to stop fighting and thinking positively. The dr today was just a man, and I am continuing my search for dr.s who have aq "can do" attitude. My faith in the Lord has never been more. I know I can live not a second longer than His will, but I also feel- I must do whatever i have to do to better the prognosis. Prayer is the key, God is the healer.

Adrian, when my stepfather had the combination of lung and prostate cancer at the same time 12 or so years ago, the doctors at the hospital we took him to told him there was nothing that could be done, and gave him three weeks to live. This guy is a stubborn korean war vet and would not accept that diagnosis - neither would we. We immediately went to the Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia, and he had several very long and complicated surgeries. All I can say is that he's still kickin today and is full of as much piss and vinegar as he always had (he's now 74!!!) If you can get to Fox Chase, get there - outside of Sloan Kettering, it's the best cancer center in the country, if not the world.

May God Bless you always.

You bring strength to so many...your family, your friends and your bass brothers and sisters. You are an inspiration to me and others.

I think that a positive attitude mixed in with some great laughs and some mind blowing lovin' from your beautiful lady will get you through the tough times. :D

God has graced us all and allows us to share in the wonderful gift that is you. Mike was right, you have work to do. When you get in that funk and the serious crap is bringing you down remember that He will give you nothing less than you can handle. And when you get in that funk, just pick up the bass and get funky, you've got the skills...spank the plank for the Lord and remember that He is proud of you.

You bring the light my friend...

Mark
