Change the bridge and add EMG pickups and EQ for a nice modern tone or add Bartolini pickups and preamp for some low mid growl. You will have a bass that sounds and plays awesome
I had a Grind bass; good and reliable out-door "stunt double" for my Cirrus. I enjoyed playing it, easy to set up, as well. Congrats and enjoy the bass!
I had a Grind, I loved the feel of the bass but the sound of the pickups were sorely lacking. I was going to put a preamp in it and change the Pups which from my understanding was the number one upgrades done to these basses for good reason. Never got around to doing it as the bass was involved in a trade. Plan was to totally gut the electronics, put in a preamp but also include an active/passive switch if possible.
