Advice needed...

I am planning on upgrading my current amp that I have (Which is a small practice combo) to a larger set-up. The thing is though, I am unsure on how big I should go.

I don't do gigs currently so I obviously don't need anything huge... But I do want to start doing some small gigs this year some time so it would have to be big enough to cater for that.

So what size cab do you guys think I should go for (Disregarding price at this stage. If anyone has any specific recommendations on brand/model etc, it would be appreciated)?

Peavey is coming out with a 600 watt TNT combo in a few months & it may be worth the wait - It has an extra speaker extension so it can grow with you. Street price will be under $500

get a seperate 410 or 15 cab and a 500watt head and you will be set for whatever the future brings

Small room (dorm/bedroom) 30 watts to 80watts
practice with one guitar and drummer 100 watts to 200
jam room with loud drummer and two guitars 350+

don't get another combo. get a 4x10 cabinet with a 500W head. that will cover just about anything you'll ever need to do in the future. keep (or eventually get another) your small amp for hame practice and leave your new rig at the practice space.

Bah...that's all customized Ampeg, the likes of which we have never seen. That rig belongs to Johnny April of Staind, BTW.

Yeah, see what you can find around you, used. Look for a head rated between 300-500 watts, and a cab that matches up to the head(impedence) Prolly a 410, or a 210/15 kinda thang.
