Advice on Pedal Tuners

It is state of the art. The only tuner in small format that I know of that is a true strobe (it is actually more accurate than the Strobostomp... it has a virtual strobe display, but has true 'strobe' technology driving the tuning mechanics), almost immediate tracking (even of the open B... amazing), and true bypass (so it sucks not of the upper frequencies out of your sound).

The fast and accurate tracking of the low B was what sold me on the Turbo Tuner. I'd always resorted to tuning to a harmonic to get my tuner to respond in a reasonable amount of time. With the TT, the open B just works.

+1 Korg Pitchblack, didn't have to have a pedal tuner (own rackmount, & clip on types) but liked the idea of a mute switch upstage plus adds another cable (I move around alot!) I went with the Korg because 1 true bypass, 2 I like the display modes, 3 it's simple and built tough. boss was a close second cause evry1 and they're grandma has one, but A/B'd I just like the Korg better.

Another vote for the pitch black. Its really a great tuner for real cheap. I've had zero problems with it and its seen 100+ gigs easily. I put a fresh battery in it before my last tour in Feb. and it died 2 weeks ago before a lesson. Thats 10 months of battery use. And i've gigged on that battery for the majority of those months. Best tuner out there imho.

Just browsing this thread, read about the great price on the Korg Pitch Black, and ran out and bought one. I've been wanting a pedal tuner for a long time, great price at Best Buy and the $20 rebate sealed the deal.

I use a Pitchblack also. I actually just have it sitting on top of my 4u rack, plugged into the tuner out.

I don't have a Pitchblack or a Turbo Tuner, but I'm going to get the Turbo soon.

All four of my basses are in different tunings, and my guitar is setup for drop B. With my basses, I can tune by ear pretty well; however, sometimes the low tunings isn't the easiest, especially during live settings. Once I start getting lower than G, I either need to tune without bypass so everyone can hear me, or I need a tuner that will have undeniable accuracy.

When I do setups for my instruments, especially the guitar since it has a tremolo, I need to make sure it's going to be spot on. As their site says, the Turbo Tuner has "Extreme accuracy: ±.02 cents guaranteed". That's the kind of accuracy I need. For $129.99, I can't complain at all.

i use a boss TU3. it's been great so far! and i tune probably 15-20 times in a show with it, constantly tweaking and detuning and then bringing the strings back in tune - it's my best friend on the board. i really like the flashing lights closing in the centre. never had a problem with noise or the bypass.

I've had the Korg Pitchblack for a month now and it works great for all kinds of tunings, fast and easy all the way down to drop C.
