Advice on upgrading?

The reason the Line 6 tempts me so is that is so much cheaper than any other setup. The Hartke 2500 with a GK 2x12 cab is running about £420, which is near double the Line 6. I mean sure, the Line 6 isn't ideal, but at that price, I really can't argue, especially as a student, working in a supermarket! :spit:

Thankfully there's a Youth Bank thing here I can apply for on behalf of my band, we can get £750 for equipment. Mind you, that has to go on a small PA as well. I can see what happens there but as things are going now, we only need the PA and my amp...

Buy cheap, buy twice ;)

I totally get the money thing so you do what you feel you need to do, but if you can put together some more money somehow, I think you'll be happier in the long run. OTOH, it's not like the Line 6 isn't usable, so if you have to, you have to.

With any luck, we'll only need money for a PA system out of this Youth Bank deal, so I should be able to scrape some extra money from that, as well as some birthday money (let's hope I get more than the £15 so far! :p) and money from gigging. All things considered, I should be able to get a decent head and cab, or maybe even a combo and extension cab (that would be awesome as well, but a head and cab is cool).

I've been browsing around, and thinking that the best setup right now would be either of these:

Hartke 2500 (250W @ 4ohm, 180 @ 8) -> Gallien-Krueger 212MBE (600 @ 8ohm), possible 1x15 added later

or

Laney RB9 (300W @ 4ohm) -> same speaker setup.

Behringer BX4500Hs seem to be fairly popular, are they the exception to Behringer's general crappiness? That would lead to needing really high power cabs though, it seems.
