Matt, that's just pitiful.
Everyone is going to react differently to different situations. And, in my 42 years on this earth, I've come to understand my own response to different situations. It has nothing to do, nothing, with trying to prove my manhood to a bunch a anonymous musicians on a bass forum. Honestly, this just isn't a group I strive to impress.
Using violence as defense against violence is something that's largely being bred out of the younger generations. I think the reasoning behind it is largely because it requires teaching a great degree of judgement. It's easier to teach a passive mindset, because the answer to any situation is always the same: run away, call an authority figure. And, it's easier to those who employ it, because it requires little risk and always gives one the answer to the flight or fight reaction.
