A big hats off to agedhorse! If there is anyone that doesn't know him, I highly suggest you read his threads!

I was immediately impressed when my new amp day thread a year ago got a response from the amp's designer. Double impressed when he said he also designed the Shuttle 6.0 I was considering purchasing used because the one I played through briefly sounded good.
From there.. he helped me solve some issues I was having from my old interface. He offered a cost effective solution. I opted to buy a new interface and he helped to assure me that the mic preamps would have plenty of headroom.
I can picture him spitting his coffee out when I mentioned my Sire having a 20Hz control a year later when comparing how good it sounded to an EQ issue I was having out of a different bass... but that's just because he didn't want me to blow my new Subway cabs and have a bad experience.
Then he's also on here often helping people on his own time with amps he had no part in the design or production of.
Seems like as much of a regular on talkbass as he is a commercial user. It certainly makes me appreciate being a member of these forums.. and while I don't really consider myself the "fanboy" type I am a fan of the products he's designed that I've had the pleasure of using, and his presence on these forums has greatly contributed to that.

Happily trending in my own peculiar direction.
Andy is the best. I've owned 8 of his creations and have loved them all. Heck, I even own one that I had no idea that he was involved in until he pointed it out during a conversation. Turns out that he had a hand in designing the tube preamp that's in my acoustic guitar. I was gobsmacked at first but it sounds so good I shouldn't have been surprised. His presence on TB is a gift.
A great resource for TB. When in doubt about an amp/speaker question, the most useful and correct answer is usually along the lines of "what agedhorse said."

Absolutely no doubt that agedhorse elevates an already great site. I learn something new quite often on TB, but when agedhorse says it,
"That's a FACT, Jack!"

I've written some pm's to folks like that to try and educate them before they get him so riled up that he gets temporarily banned ! He's a treasure here for good reason and immensely , patient when some dolts attempt to reinvent " science " with half baked or perhaps " fully baked " ideas ..... Thanks Sir Horse ....

I appreciate Agedhorse as a source of unvarnished and authoritative information on amplification, circuit design, and audio. Always respectful of the less-than-knowledgable, Agedhorse will deliver actionable and informed suggestions on problem-solving to address audio problems.
