I think we'll have to discuss the race of the word "agree" first and foremost.
I sense a micro aggression in this statement, and think the only reason you posted it is because the OP is white. Or black. Or some other minority. It doesn't really matter, there was racist intent in that post. I felt it and think you should put a little more thought into things before you post them.
And if you disagree, well then you know what we'll have to do here.
I find the expression to be 'pointful' myself. Although in some cases when I use it, it seems to instigate the person I can not agree with.

If you both agree to disagree....then you can close the conversation immediately on that note and understanding
rather than bull-headedly bickering for who knows how long
about something, that, probably the outcome of which will not be changed regardless of whether you are right or wrong.....

If the view of conflicting religions was simply to agree to disagree it would be a more peaceful planet. Personally I like the phrase much more than wasting my time.
