Aguilar AG 700 Drop

Hello Folks!
My Aguilar 700 rolled off my cart heading into a gig last night and hit the ground. At first I could not get any sound out of it. Plugged into the effects loop and was able to get sound. Plugged it back into the regular jack and after a little distortion it started working properly again. Is there an Aguilar amp repair person in the US someone can recommend? Really don't want to go through Korg if I don't have to. Not sure what go knocked loose, but I need to have it looked at ... I'm willing to ship and I'm located in the Southeast US. Thanks

You should call Korg and ask them who they recommend out of their authorized service centers. Some service centers are better than others, and some are just an unfortunate excuse. This is typical in the industry.

When you send it in, tape a note to the case that explains exactly what happened: how far was the fall, what sort of surface it fell onto, all that stuff. The more detail the better. That will guide them re. what things to look for and reduce the probability of a No Problem Found diagnosis.

Thanks, eniac! I called Korg and there is an authorized repair shop about an 1 hour away. I'll call them Monday and I may take it up there myself.

An idea for when the amp comes back. . . . I carry all my amps in their own foam filled aluminum case.

I've thought about doing that before. Currently, I use the Aguilar amp bag.

Don't leave the power cord with the amp when you drop it off for repair!!
Take the cord with you. The repair place has plenty of them. Don't let them add yours to their collection.

Thanks for there reminder! This is also true if you ever rent your gear out to backline companies. Lost a few cords over the years.
