Hi,

So my question is what volume pot would I need as well as a Bass/Treble Stack pot along with an active passive switch?
I’m currently using an Audere Jazz plate and would like to mount the preamp onto the plate.
4 Knobs 1 switch also I may have another tiny switch opening from where the LED light on the plate, the input Jack is in the body.
Also can it be wired for Active/Passive?
The Pickups are J.Suhr Jazz V’s with a 7.43 & 7.56 Ohm K output read.

Thanks,
Rap

It depends on what configuration you'd want for the entire preamp setup, but for volume on those pickups, I'd definitely go with a 500k pot.
A/P switch would be DPDT and it's up to you whether you want it on a push/pull or through the plate on its own.
The hole on that plate for the LED is too small for a switch, you'd have to drill it out to 1/4" for another switch.
For the bass/treble stack, you'll need a B50k stacked pot with center detents.
Are you thinking Vol-Vol or Vol-Pan?

And if it were me doing this setup, I'm kind of a "kitchen sink wiring" fan, so I'd probably do something like:
- Vol/Vol stacked pot
- Passive tone pot with push/pull for preamp bypass
- Mid pot with push/pull for mid frequency select
- Stacked B/T
- Switch would be for series/parallel of the pickups (aka, a passive boost switch)

Hey Adam the kitchen sink wiring is so the move.

Okay, so here's the passive section of that, hope my drawing is legible:

That would get the pickups wired to the S/P switch, also then going to the stacked volumes.
The Passive tone would be pulled for the preamp bypass.

EDIT: I messed up the volume, reversed the ground and outputs. This is how that should be wired:

As for wiring the preamp, just follow Aguilar's diagram for the tone pots and switch:

If you have the stacked 50k pot for B/T, just see which side controls the top and bottom knobs respectively, then connect the wiring colors to those how you want.

Adam you RULE!!! Many Thanks! The preamp or this version rather comes with the PP mid frequency pot and bass and treble pot separately. I’ll need to get a stack B/T pot and the Vol/Vol and the switch.
Yep, I just have to order what’s missing. Really amazes me that Aggie just supplies the basics. :roflmao:

It's pretty normal for most companies that do a module-type preamp to just supply the basics. Nordy does that too, but offers (for an upcharge) to have them pre-wired.
Best Bass Gear sells the mid pot, stacked pot, and stacked volume pot, but they are all fairly pricey. And you'll need knobs, too. But with all of that, you'd have quite a setup!

EDIT: I screwed up on the volume pot wiring, due to perspective... posted a fix on that.
