Aguilar TH500 and cab combinations

Try with more master and less gain. The best advise I ever got with this amp is to crank the master and use the gain as my VOL, keeps it clean, and use the DRIVE knob to warm it up. Usually my drive is around 10 or 11 now, where I disliked it before when gain was higher and master lower.
Play with reducing the bass knob, lower your mid Freq to say 9 o'clock and the mid level to 3.

Only problem with running the TH500 this way is if you're running the DI into a PA system, every time you adjust the Gain or Drive controls you're affecting the signal to the PA which your soundman isn't going to like! I usually set and forget at least the Gain control and then adjust the Master control for stage volume which doesn't affect the DI output, keeps the soundman much happier!

if you go pre on the Di then any changes to the gain knob won't effect the front of house

I'm playing ml with a trio as we speak, and here is how I've been all night. One SL112. Tobias Pro4. Favoring bridge pickup by 50%

IIRC it weights 51 lbs.; Don built this one the old fashioned way, 3/4" baltic birch plywood, well braced, special tough as nails liner coating. This cab is solid as a rock. :)

I have not done a comparison, yet, between the two 1-10 cabs and this 2-8. I should do that as the weather is starting to get cold and I will have more time to do such things.
