Edit: I should add that I actually like the look of it and as a 6'4" guy I like that the panel is tilted and I don't have to bend over to read the labels.

...that must have been a difficult design trade-off discussion between aesthetics and "a functional and unique feature". As a 6' 2" person I also think they made a good choice regardless of aesthetics.

It sure looks like an organ console. I kind of like its look (and have faith in Aguilar's sound), but I wonder how portable is it?

It was a gutsy retro move style-wise! When I first saw it I was reminded of my old Maytag washer and dryer.

I gigged with an SWR Workingman’s 15 for years. I always hated the design with the amp raised from the cab. Weird to pack and just awkward.

That being said-I’m sure this amp sounds killer and hopefully it is lighter than the old workingman.

I think it looks pretty cool but definitely something I'd leave at home or in a studio and not an amp I'd lug to gigs every week. I assume that was their intent with the design. It will be interesting if we see other manufacturer's moving away from the "lightweight and giggable" ethos that has dominated the bass market for so many years. I love my ultralight gear as much as anyone but lowering the priority of weight and portability could produce some interesting amps.

Once in place it looks very functional to use. The amp face is easy to see and touch, a bit of a shelf for small items.

As a long time THDI user, I am curious about how this one sounds on a mid-volume gig with a drummer. I don’t see myself moving away from my BF Super Twin (40 lbs) but the description of the cab featuring tight lows and mid-forward sound is what I use the THDI to achieve. I would be happy if this new Aguilar combo was offered as backline.

I think that is heavier than the Boss Katana 2x10... That's rather heavy for modern bass combos...

As a longtime Aguilar fanboy, I can say YUCK to the cosmetics. Not enthusiastic about Korg Aguilar in the slightest. I do like their tuners, though.

it definitely has a retro vibe AND a built in beer shelf!

at nearly 50 pounds though, i don't see this as a viable portable option. i spent a few hundred less on a Mesa 800w head and a GK 210 tilt-back cab. i made a simple bracket and it functions the same as a combo would. weighs less and is easy to transport. plus, the cab is angled up at my head so it's no problem to hear it, even in a small space.

but, this one does have that beer shelf....

I find the design choices somewhat strange. Portability and convenience are major selling points for a combo, this seems to have neither. The design looks more suited for a permanent place in a studio or practice space.

Naah - it was a "designer" Christmas Tree in a reasonably high-end room.
