Aguilar Tone Hammer 350

For those worried about volume from the TH series, I just finished a month and a half on the road with the TH500, ending last weekend with a packed Bowery Ballroom in NYC. We're an incredibly loud rock band with a drummer who hits insanely hard. I had more than enough volume, and have had to turn down after setting the head with my eyes instead of my ears with some frequency. I used to be one of those guys with the massive rack and the 2000 watt poweramp. The Tonehammer delivers.
Less than 3 lbs? Pretty soon you'll find amps displayed in the glass cases at the cashier with anti-shoplifting tags on them. All the better I say. Theft drives up the cost and passed down to the consumer ultimately.
I don't know what the power section is in the Ampeg or Carvin amps; but I do know that the Tone Hammer 350 uses the same power section as the GK MB500.
I certainly cannot speak for anyone but Aguilar. We rate our output power according to the FTC standard for audio amplifiers.
Over the years people have talked about "Aguilar watts", and wondered why our amps are so loud. We have even been accused of under rating the DB 750! Of course there is no such thing as Aguilar watts; but it highlights the difference in how companies rate their power.
Hope this helpful! It's hard to compare specifications if there is not one standard being adhered to.

So now there are three types of watts: solid state watts, tube watts, and Aguilar watts.

I'd love to try the TH500. My DB212 is a brilliant cabinet, and I use the Tonehammer pedal at the moment.
Talking of watts, there seems to be a lot of different ways to express how loud an amp will go, and its strange that each amp has a different wattage with the same power module. Surely the limiting can't affect it THAT much to have a difference between say 350 and 500 watts (as in the MB500 by GK and this new Aguilar TH350).
The first time I came across a sitation where I felt the amp was underpowered was the Ampeg SVT Pro 3, and the 'gain increase' setup still didn't work. I've not had that happen since, but all these new age micros seem to hammers!

Well, I definitely said the opposite regarding types of watts.
A watt is a watt. The only thing there apparently is more than one of is ways of measuring them and marketing them.

Is it true that I can get the same sound theoretically for running Tone Hammer Preamp into efx return of GK MB500as power amp compared to running TH350 or TH500 directly??
I am curious about running Tone Hammer pre/DI into power amp (power section of other heads) verus TH350/TH500...
Or other fellows have tried??

I "pre-ordered" a TH 350 from Bass Central - got the email today that it shipped. I should get it early next week.
