Aguilar Tone Hammer 350

Does anyone know of the TH350 has selectable input voltage like the 500? Im headed to the UK and Turkey in a month & Im not really counting on Turkey having great backline. I think the little ToneHammer could be a great investment long-term...

Thanks for stopping by Buzz! You are correct, we have all the Aguilar heads namely the DB751, TH500, and now the TH350's. We also have the SL410, and DB & GS series cabs in stock, not to mention great pricing on the AG500SC and AG500 Dual Channel amps. Everything is available to demo at our Chicago shop. I agree with Dave Boonshoft, the TH500 & TH350 have the tone character of the DB751 in a lightweight package. IMO, the TH350 has enough power to handle small to medium shows. It wont be a colosseum head or the first thing you'd grab to play an arena or big stage, but very usable for gigging.

I tried the TH500 in conjunction with an SL112 using a 5 string Jazz at GuitarGuitar in Edinburgh yesterday - everything i want in a super lightweight package - low B sounding very well controlled and compressed.
But .. this rig would be over £1,200 so I've gone for the TH350 and Hartke Hydrive 112 - £780. The Hartke is little over half the price of the Aguilar SL112 but has similar specs. It weighs 30lbs as opposed to 25 for the Aggy.
Delivery expected next week and hoping I can use them next week in WhistleBinkies. I'll get back with a review soon.

I've never tried an Aguilar product before reading this thread.

Based on Dave B.'s level-headed comments, and his assembled in the USA products, I thought I should take a jump and order a TH350. Those two things sold me immediately.

Amp arrived yesterday. It's sounding good! The real test will be this weekend at the gig. But soo far, it's sounding like a keeper.

Awaiting your review. I have a TH500 and a pair of DB112s and it is heaven. I wanted some SLs but I already had one DB112 so I just got another one to pair up with.

Youre going to love that rig.
Btw, i visited Edinburgh a few years ago; what a beautiful city and country!

I gigged my new rig in WhistleBinkies last night and initial impressions are very good. The basic sound I most favour is bass heavy with not too much mid punch and hardly any top and it didn't disappoint. Volume was about halfway into 8 ohms so probably delivering about 100W. I'm using an American Jazz V and I didn't have too much time before the gig to experiment with the TH tones but it sounds fairly dark and not much in the way of top end sparkle.
I was a bit worried about the cab since it's SO SMALL and lightweight but I needn't have been. Even pounding away on a low D on the B-string didn't bother it.
It's hard to be totally objective since WB has DI for the bass, but the stage sound was fine (and by the end very loud!).
Comparing it to my old Gallien Kruger RB400 115 combo, my new rig delivers "my sound" just as well in a package less than half the weight. Price wise, the new rig is just under £800 whereas the GK is £550.
The only reservation is that if I ever need a Geddy Lee tone, I don't think the TH350 would really deliver - the GK certainly did though.
Overall really pleased with my purchase though. More later when I gig without the aid of DI.
Finally, after the high energy finish last night, I thought the TH might have been a bit warm but was surprised that it was cool as a cucumber.

Thanks. Our band is The Loafers - some older YT vids - search for The Loafers UK. We're a four piece playing a wide mix of soul / funk (Average White Band), classic rock - Steve vai, Pink Floyd, Joe Walsh and some jazzier stuff - Steely Dan and John Martyn.
WhistleBinkies is a very large bar built specifically for live music and there's usually 3 or 4 different band on each night. Crowd is a wide mix too with lots of tourists during the Festival in particular - the joint is usually jumpin' then but other times, like last night, it was a bit sparse.
Well worth a visit if you ever have an overnight in Edinburgh :-)
