Hi guys,
Wanted to ask you about thicknest, fattest, most powerful sounding preamp. Eden WTP or Aggie DB680 or some sort of Gallien or Ampeg SVP? Maybe Alembic? Please, I need something as thick, growly, synthy and mean as possible.

I prolly would go with the Aggie....

Well, you guys tell me again about importance of poweramp in this tone "fatness". The thing is that I will not use any poweramp neither cabs. I will go from poweramp to EQ/comp maybe any sort of exciter or maximizer - but not sure, then to simple ,rack mixer and then to the PA, while on stage I will use full range cabinets as monitors to hear the same what is heard from the PA. Having Aggie DB750/751 along with GK RB2001, Aggie set phat and thick, GK set grindy and aggressive with sort of HPF to use guitar effects well. I would use both with good parametric EQs and sent signal from each to good cabs - for example Aggie to Mesa Powerhouse 1000 or other 10" + 15" combo and Whappo Grande 21" for lowest fundamentals and detuning, then GK to sort of 4x10 cabinet with strong treble and midrange - such as Hartke 4.5XL or something and SWR 8x8 - because 8" speakers add lots of growl and grind. But then again: first idea is to be compact and efficient - second is a bit overkill but it works as it should. Here we have problem. I know Aggie's fatness wouldn't be the same with only DI'd preamp...Having that monstrous poweramp going to large diameter cones is definitely giving more fatness than bass and preamp itself. But it is big, noisy, heavy, not as efficient and effective. What would you suggest then? What you'd say about profiling DB750 with Kemper, using Aggie with Torpedo cab simulation? Whatever? Would it work? I would definitely love to go as I wanted to, but I am not sure if it's possible.

I attended the 2017 JT Schmid's Bass Bash, and the GK setup smoked the Aguilar setup!

You can get a pretty loachy sound with a B7K if you are leaning towards the modern.

See if you can find a Kern. They were inherently thick, and also very clear & clean. ...might be costly, though.
