I haven't used this amp in a while the mid and bass notes are starting to rattle somewhere inside. It's not the speaker farting. Has anyone had experience of this? I'm wondering how easy it is to take it apart and try and track down a loose part?

Yup, it happened with my coda. I tightened all the screws in the chassis down and it fixed the problem. I had called Rick and he indicated that this was an occasional problem.

If this doesn't work, call Rick and he will fix you up. They have awesome service.

It's not the grill as far as I can tell, it's all done up tight. Unfortunately I used it at rehearsal last night, got carried away by the newly set up bass and pick up sound and turned it up a bit. I think I over drove the amp because it stopped working and now makes a weak fizzy crackle sound. Oh dear.

Following up on this. Spoke to Laurence at AI Europe today, the woofer was blown and the old woofer had some plastic that had broken off and was casing rattling prior to it getting fried.

The amps well out of warranty and it cost £70 plus £10 shipping for the repair. Seems pretty reasonable as blown speakers are not covered. I also get an upgrade to the most recent and better woofer.

I'm happy with the experience and it was turned around really fast. Very friendly on the phone too, we end up talking for ages about strings and amps, a conversation that would bore any non bass player to tearsd

Glad to hear it's all worked out. Mine too, I think. Rick at AI here in the US sent a replacement for the down-facing woofer. Definite improvement. The remainder of my problem seems to come down to my pickup, which should be easily corrected with a re-solder at the connection to the jack.
