AIAB… without the cab sim??

I had an HXStomp for a while that i used as my fly rig/direct board.
Problem was, i wasn’t actually using much of anything on it.
My signal was just the Fender Deluxe head (no cab) run frequency flat with a touch of compression in front.
Owning the Stomp seemed overkill for what i was doing with it, so i moved it along and have been looking for a tubey frequency flat thing (drive? Preamp? Carrots?)
to use instead.
But i don’t want a cab sim.
I want a little push and squish that comes with running an amp, but not the cab.
I have a Fairfield Modele B, and it’s good, but not exactly what i want.
I need a bigger range of gain (i want to go lower than it allows).
Origin just dropped the BassRIG Super Vintage, and it looks good but it has a non-defeatable cab sim, so it might not work.
I’ll keep an eye out for a Bstock or used, but until then, any suggestions?

Catalinbread has a bunch of AIAB pedals that don't have cab sim (their documentation doesn't list it as a feature, anyway).

SFT (SVT), Formula 5f6 (Bassman), Rah (Hiwatt), and some others. I'm using a 5f6 and don't turn it off when with my band. I run the gain close to min and get next to zero breakup unless I dig in or add some sauce.

I think Sushibox is in the same area, but with tooooobs.

Look at the @Sushi Box FX Finally Tube DI or the Space Heater both use the the gain profiles you like and no tone stack.
If you do want a tone stack the Underground Accelerator is brilliant.

I had the Underground Accelerator, and it was pretty good, but i couldn’t get it flat.
The 2-10-2 trick had a noticable low end roll off that i couldn’t EQ out.
I have seen the Space Heater, though.
I’m just curious if it’s actually frequency flat or if it has a low end roll off.

And i’ve seen Catalinbread stuff (i owned a WIIO that i loved, but it had a midscoop that drove me nuts), but i’ll look at some of their stuff, see what i see.

On my 5f6 I have the mids nearly cranked, the lows at around 2o'clock, and the highs around 9 and the sound feels pretty balanced to me. I don't usually like heavily scooped tones (whatever that's worth).

Space Heater and Finally are both full range with no roll off in either the hi or lo end. @Sushi Box FX uses the same gain stage as the Fender Showman on both with a master volume. To my critical ear there is no coloration or signal loss but a very pleasing tube warmth, I chose the Jensen option on my Finally for that reason.
