Ain’t Too Proud Theory question

As someone not in depth with detailed music theory...

Temptations, Ain’t Too Proud. Everything I’m seeing is listed as C Major key. But why do I feel like I’m playing B major, with the guitarists also playing B major?

I'm guessing you found the same chord chart as your guitarist and are playing in the same key half a step down from the original, so it sounds in tune to both of you.

You haven't really provided enough information to answer the question, because you haven't explained HOW you learned the song, or WHO you are playing it with. Anything we guess would just be speculation.

@James Collins has a good theory why you might be plying this song in the "wrong" key. Three additional hypotheses I can think of:

1. You learned the song from YouTube. Songs uploaded to YouTube aren't always the best audio quality. Sometimes they are off pitch.
2. Your guitarists are tuned a half step down, in Eb standard tuning.
3. Your singer has a different "vocal range" than the Temptations and is more comfortable singing the song in the lower key.

The Rolling Stones version was played in B if I’m not mistaken. One of you maybe are more familiar with the Stone’s version thus playing it on that key.

Mushroo is correct, not enough info. The song is in C major(at least on the youtube video I checked lol) and is pretty easy to transpose. It's mostly a I IV tune with the V thrown in at the end of the sections. Don't sweat it.

Of course, with the Stones "key of B" generally means "somewhere in the vicinity of B."
