AKG P2 on a bass cab.

Well, I had been set on buying a PR40 to mic my SVT/810 rig, but life happened and the money I had saved for the mic had to be spent on other things. So instead I decided to buy an AKG P2, which was a suggestion I got for a cheaper mic from Jimmy M. Had my first gig with it last night and while I have never used a PR40 or any other bass mic and can't really compare the two, I can say that this mic very accurately reproduces the sound of my rig. I also popped the cherry on my new G50 last night and was able to get out front and listen. I didn't hear any kind of mid scoop with this mic. I have almost no experience with mic'ing a bass cab so I guess you should take my comments with that in mind, but I can say I was extremely happy with the results I got from this mic. The sound coming out of the FOH was the same as the sound coming out of my 810cl. Can't ask for more than that.

So if anyone has wanted to try this mic but was afraid to, I suggest you give it a shot.
