Death From Above 1979 - You're a Woman, I'm a Machine
Great simple dancey rock with a huge sound. The production takes a little getting used to, but it fits the material perfectly. It's like an entire album about having sex. Not a single bad song on it.
Mogwai - Rock Action
Mogwai - Come On, Die Young
Mogwai - Zidane
Front to back, all three of these are pure masterpieces. A band of Mogwai's calibre is almost expected to release one perfect album in their lifetime. They've done THREE, and I can't say a bad thing about any one of them. Even the "filler tracks" on Rock Action are amazing.
Opeth - Blackwater Park
The crown jewel of progressive death metal. I'm a big fan of Damnation, Ghost Reveries and My Arms, Your Hearse as well, but it's hard to compare anything to Blackwater Park.
Porcupine Tree - Fear of a Blank Planet
Jesus! These guys haven't made a bad album ever, but then they come out with the BEST album in progressive rock history, IMO. Deadwing and In Absentia would be here instead, but Blank Planet blows them out of the water.
Thom Yorke - The Eraser
I love Radiohead and all, but this is Thom Yorke's best work, bar none. Amazing production on an album full of hit singles, and the flow is perfect.
Tool - 10,000 Days
It used to be Aenima for me, but 10K definately ups the ante. I thought it was going to suck, too. Who knew?
