Albums you can play all the way through...

I was having a good playalong tonight, and ended up playing throgh the entire Rage Against the Machine album. Then I realised there was only two other albums I could do that with... Franz Ferdinand and Bloc Party's Silent Alarm. Those tunes were my staples when I was learning and I used to love playing them over and over.

So what albums can you play all the way through?

As I taught myself to play by doing just this, several.

My obsession when I was a younger player was Journey's Ross Valory so many many hours was spent playing along to Journey Captured. My first bass was a Peavey T40 because he played one.

Other unusual ones would be Planet P Planet P project and Fragments of Freedom by Morcheeba.

Not so much, probably. Back then there was always something on the turntable (!), or a cassette in the deck, and I always had a bass plugged in and ready to go.

So I guess no more than a few songs off anything else that has been released in the last 30 years or so. But I think that is more of a reflection of the way we obtained and played music back then compared to now. And that's when I started learning to play bass guitar, and that's what I was into and could handle back then.
