hey folks,

can anybody guess what this wood combination might sound like?

I had an Ash bodied bass with Wengé top. The top will only affect the sound if it's pretty thick. Soft woods would certainly get some nice tone influence with a hard wood top of at least 1/4".
It's still Alder, but it will have a bit of extra presence on the top end, probably.
