This came up in another thread about the notifications but I thought it would be better to make it its own thread. Would it be possible to have the notifications act sorts like the watched threads page? So instead of having multiple notifications for the same thread when you're doing something else there's just one alert and one notification that bumps to the top of the list when someone else posts in a thread? Optimally it could show who posted like the "likes" on a post, e.g. "BassistA, BassistB, and X other people have posted in a thread since you last visited" and there would be only one alert that pops up until you actually go look at the thread. I think that would be the best compromise so that people don't "lose" watched threads and it keeps the overall number of alerts down.
