I live in Brazil and here flatwound bass strings are expensive and rare.. but I found an affordable option, Alice Flatwound strings, but as you may know, they are Chinese and China is Known for the low quality of its products. I would like to know from anyone who has used these Alice Flatwound strings, are they any good? Are worth? (I plan to put them on my Hofner Ignition)

Alice flatwound strings are they worth it?

Sorry, I am in the US so am ignorant of the Brazilian market. If I understand the currency conversion, that comes out to about $62 USD? What are comparison prices there? I personally would not risk it, but like I said, I don’t understand the market you have.
In addition to this option, I only have the d'dario strings, which are R$550 reais
The Hofner Ignition bass requires "medium scale" strings with around 34" winding length (ball end to silk/taper) for a proper fit. Looking at the package in the photo, it's hard to tell how long those strings are supposed to be as there is no info.
D'Addario Chromes Flats "medium scale" are 34" in winding length, which is what your bass needs.
That's good news. Just wanted to make sure they were in fact the right strings for your bass. Carry on...
I also have this rope option, but I think they are too big for Hofner... could you tell me if they fit or not?

Those GHS Precision Flats would be way too long for a Hofner. They're 38" from ball end to silk.
By the way, are you sure the Alice strings in your pic are flatwound? There is nothing on the package that indicates they're actually flats or medium-scale.
I've found the same set (A628) on a couple of websites, where they do indicate they're in fact flatwound. Still no info on the winding length, though.
yes, they are flatwound, there are more pictures in the ad and i also confirmed their size with the seller
Why don't you go ahead and try them, and let us know what they're like. This is the first time I've ever seen "Alice Flatwound" mentioned on this forum.
I think I'll end up doing that anyway... But I'm very afraid because if they are bad it will be a mistake that will cost me dearly

I have never heard of this brand. They might be great, but if possible I would stick with brands I'm familiar with.
If you can't order internationally from a US seller, have you tried eBay? That's an international market, somebody is bound to ship to Brazil.

It appears from my poor comprehension of Portugues is that this will fit medium scale bass.
Steel production in the US has dwindled so possibly we import our steel anyway from China and other countries. Not sure if the steel used in these strings are US made anyway.
We can, but the value of taxes is so high that it would be more expensive than those that we already have on the market
I really wanted to order through ebay, but generally the IRS usually puts high taxes on imports, I've had terrible experiences with this
