All black bass

Warwick Darklord (w/ a luthier made fretless neck)

... i dont have pics now, but my vampyre SN is also all black and strung with DR Black Beauties.

im not big fans of black basses since i noticed they end up looking 'invisible' onstage when you are wearing black lol

I know it isn't ALL black...yet. But I think I'd like it to be.

Thoughts? The only hang up is I can't find the mounting rings around the pups in black. Anyone know where I could find them? I can find a replacement bridge and tuners in black but not the rings.

There is a guy on e-bay that makes pickup rings. I had a bb300 that I put regular pickups in and it left a huge gap. He made me some out of mirrored purple. Very resonable.

It's like, how much more black could this be?
And the answer is none. None more black . . .

My newest bass, delivered on July 23, 2010:
Ernie Ball Musicman Stingray 4H Stealth with Ebony Fingerboard (Bass Central's photo).

Wow! I can't tell you just how much I like your new bass, shastaband. All of the beauty of a graphite neck, but with all of the tone of real wood - perfect :smug:!

Here's one that I once cobbled together. It didn't have black hardware though, so it doesn't properly qualify for the thread, but it does answer the earlier call for more DR Black Beauty-strung basses :D.

Ooohh i have one of those.
Every four years it goes dead and plays like rubbish.

:hiding:
Yyyyyyyyyyyyyyup. Except 2011 isn't looking like one of those years. Not that I'm complaining too much, since the US has Ireland, Italy, and freaking Australia in our pool, so I doubt we'll be relevant by the end of round robin play.

As for the thread, I have an all-black Ibanez SR885. Incidentally there's a link to it in my sig and you should all check it out ;)

I think that looks awesome ... better than if it had black hardware. i might have even gone one step further w/ a chrome pup cover (if such a thing exists for that pup) or a chrome pg. very cool!

How many folks here own all black basses? I'm talking body, pick guard, and hardware. I seem to have a morbid desire to own an all black bass. Maple fretboards are fine on it however but Ebony would just seal the deal. If you have one or more please post pics.

These two, a Warwick Corvette $$ and Peavey G V:

And I used to own this Ibanez SR405 which had the funkiest B string of its time:

If you could provide detailed drawings I could machine up a set in aluminium for you. You'd need to find a local anodizing shop (or DIY) to turn them black. But it's very possible.
