Ed Sullivan mics are reported to be AKG. It makes sense, George Martin was with them and AKG mics were used at Abbey Road.

The Shure Unidyne mics were very popular, predecessor of the SM57 and 58’s.

Before the ball type unidynes like the SM58 shape. I have a 55 broadcast mic that I’ve used for years. They look so cool. A version is available as a reissue.

I just never learn. My new vinyl copy of the remixed Revolver has a "dirt" noise in the right channel throughout the entire thing. Also the center hole wasn't punched clean - I had to use an Xacto knife on it. It's going back to Amazon.

But focusing on the new mixes, it sounds fantastic.

Take Ringo or George out of the equation and any of it wouldn’t have happened regardless of the material Lennon and McCartney produced. Together, they were a band. Separately, they all had their own talents. And their combined touring and studio experiences groomed them all for future successful solo careers.
